Terms

This page explains what the material on this site is for and what it can't promise. It also lists the booking terms, which are still to be confirmed.

Please note

These terms are a draft, and they still need to be checked before the site goes live.

  1. What this site is

This is the personal website of Bilal Bashir, Economics teacher. It is about his O Level and A Level Economics lessons. By using the site, you accept the terms on this page. Using the site doesn’t create a contract for lessons. Lessons are agreed separately in writing, between the teacher and the student or the student’s parent or guardian.

  2. Study help with no promised grades

Everything on this site is study help. That includes explanations, worked answers, revision notes and exam technique. This material supports a student’s own reading, their school lessons and the syllabus from their exam board.

Nothing on this site promises, suggests or guarantees a grade, mark or exam result. Results depend on the student’s own work, their starting point and how the exam day goes. A teacher can’t control these things.

  3. Accuracy and the syllabus

The material is written with care, but syllabuses change. Only the exam board can say exactly what its papers ask for. Before you use anything here for an exam paper, please check the latest syllabus from Cambridge International (CAIE).

  4. The material and who owns it

The writing, teaching material and design on this site belong to Bilal Bashir, unless a page says otherwise. Students are welcome to read, print and use it for their own study. To republish it, sell it or use it to teach a paid class somewhere else, you need written permission first.

  5. Past papers and exam board material

This website does not share past papers or mark schemes. Students practise with papers they get from their school or from Cambridge.

That material belongs to the exam boards that publish it, so please get it from them. When this site talks about a past-paper question, it only refers to it. It doesn’t copy the question out for others to use.

  6. Booking, fees and cancellation

Lessons are arranged on these terms:

    Format
[Class Format: e.g. one-to-one online, small group] (to be confirmed)
    Schedule
    [Class Schedule] (to be confirmed)
    Fee
    [Course Fee] (to be confirmed)
    Duration
    [Course Duration] (to be confirmed)

The notice needed to change or cancel a lesson is [Cancellation notice period] (to be confirmed). The refund policy is [Refund policy] (to be confirmed). These terms are confirmed in writing when lessons are booked, and those written terms are the ones that apply.

  7. Links to other sites

This site may link to other websites. This site doesn’t run those websites and isn’t responsible for what they publish.

  8. Governing law

The law of [Governing law and jurisdiction] (to be confirmed) applies to these terms. Any dispute is dealt with by the courts there.

  9. Changes to these terms

These terms were last checked on [Date last reviewed] (to be confirmed). They may change as the site changes, and the version on this page is always the current one.

Details with a dotted underline are still to be confirmed. These include the fee, the schedule, the cancellation terms and the law that applies.
