How I teach

What you can expect in my lessons

Here is how my lessons run at both O Level and A Level. We make sure you understand each topic, and we practise writing clear answers for the exam.

  1. Clear explanations

Every new topic starts from something you already understand.

  2. Exam-focused teaching

You learn what the examiner is looking for in each type of question.

  3. Past-paper practice

You get used to writing answers within the exam time limit.

  4. Individual feedback

Every answer you hand in comes back with clear notes on what to change.

  5. Understanding how economies work

You learn to think through an economic problem for yourself.

About me

Economics gets easier when it's explained clearly.

When students find Economics hard, the problem is often the order they learnt it in. Many memorise definitions before they understand the idea behind them. So the subject starts to feel like a long list of words.

In my lessons we do it the other way round. I explain the idea first in plain English, with one simple example. Once you understand it, we add the Economics terms. You draw the diagrams yourself, and you plan each answer before you write it.

We learn the Economics and practise exam answers in the same lessons. A student can know a topic well and still lose marks because of how they write the answer. For example, they leave out a diagram or forget to evaluate at the end.
